It also works well as a water polisher when finer filter material is used. The unique double filter cartridge comes with two foam pads which allow for alternating replacement. Staggering replacement allows for continuous biological filter activity. The filter cartridge also has a designated area for optional media such as Polyester Filter Pads or Special Carbon Filter Pads (not included). The added flexibility of using denser filter pad material allows for finer particulate removal so that you can polish your water not just filter it. The filter also features a clogging indicator that will indicate when the filter media needs to be maintained.
